I came to holistic health during my 11 years working in Fortune 500 Corporate America. For years, I lacked stress hardiness, forgot to prioritize myself, and didn’t feel love for my body and mind. I was pregnant with my second daughter and got diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Like any degenerative disease, diabetes doesn't just pop-up out of the blue- it grows over many months and years as the body’s systems become overwhelmed by all the factors of modern life: food, inflammation, toxic exposure, chronic stress, lack of satisfying relationships…on and on. What became clear to me at that difficult time is that our choice of food, self talk, self care, self love, life work, spiritual sovereignty, are all things most of us have autonomy over. It’s all interconnected in the larger picture of what makes up fortified health.
I became impassioned with the idea of food and self knowledge as medicine. Knowing that the micro choices we make each day define our lifestyle habits add up to a lifetime. That lifetime of choices contributes to our potential for dis-ease or thriving health. I found my way into the world of wellness and preventative medicine, and it’s now my heart’s work. I spent years in holistic education, certifying in a variety of modalities. At my corporate company, I helped to stand up the first Global Health and Wellbeing department. When the time came to offer something bigger to my community, left the corporate world and opened a private holistic health practice. Now, I am also on a mission to guide others to experience the power of self knowledge, empower individuals to take the lead role in their heath journey, and educate individuals about accessible holistic health and spiritual alignment can be.
